This Memorial Day weekend brings to mind the special opportunity I had last weekend down in Dallas, TX to join my fellow Board members for the Colson Center in presenting Bob Fu with with the Wilberforce Award. Bob was a student leader during the Tiananmen Square demonstrations in 1989 in China. And in 2002, he founded ChinaAid, whose mission is to bring attention to the human rights violations in China and promote religious freedom for all people in China.
It is so easy for those of us who have been privileged to live here in the United States to take our freedoms for granted, as well as, the innumerable sacrifices made by so many men and women in the military (and their families) to ensure that those freedoms are protected. People like Bob Fu understand what is at stake, and his courage is a reminder that there is more work to be done. Thank you to all of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of my family and me. We honor you today… and every day!
